Comments : We were on our honeymoon and Kimberly had read about your Shaved Ice in our Fodor's guide. We had passed a bunch of signs for other stops and in my part of the world we have a famous Ice King but it's totally different. We came by today on October 14th 2009. Your Shaved Ice was incredible. I had the Coconut and Kimb had the Pineapple/Raspberry. We loved them. A great stop during our trip.

Comments : My wife and I were on our honeymoon, and were looking for a shave ice on the north shore of Kauai. An ABC Store clerk suggested we try you. During our honeymoon we had shave ice from 9 different places on Kauai, Maui and Oahu, including the so-called famous Matsumoto's. Your shave ice was far and away the best we had! The ice was perfectly shaved, and the syrups were fantastic. Thank you for great shave ice!

Comments : My family and I stopped to buy some cold drinks at Big Save and while
waiting for my husband I noticed the Hawaiian Blizzard sign. The boys
each got one and loved it!! The snow cap added that special flavor the
boys and myself enjoyed. The kindness of the owner made it more
enjoyable and pleasant. He kept adding the snow cap and kept us
entertained with some local music. This is the reason we keep coming
back to Hawaii, the people and their kindness. Thank you for making

Comments : We ran into your WHITE VAN by chance. But it was hard to part from it. We had your AMAZING shave ice EVERYDAY (maybe we missed one day but that’s because you were closed or we would have been there at 9:00 p.m.)! We were staying in Princeville but made excuses as to why we had to drive to Kapaa. We both knew SHAVE ICE was on our mind. We love the way each time we walked up you smiled and said “Two”? The first day we shared our shave ice. After that it was every man for himself. One day we caught you as you were packing up. You only had enough ice for ONE!! Aaaaahhhhhh! My husband handed it to me and had to go into the store to make a purchase. To his dismay, the shave ice didn’t make it (in my defense I did state a disclaimer “I don’t know if this will hold up in the heat”). I only left him one spoonful and the syrup, because honestly………IT WOULD HAVE MELTED (if I hadn’t SAVED IT)!
Another day we were taking in the beach in Hanalei, snorkeling and just enjoying the beauty that is Kauai. My husband noticed the time and said, “We need to go”. I wondered where we could possibly be going as we had made no plans. He stated, “Shave ice closes at 5:00 and we have just enough time to shower and get there”.
We felt just as anxious and excited to get our shave ice as the 2 year olds you serve. For that MAHALO! (As my husband is a workaholic and needed to be 2 again)
Some days we had our shave ice early in the day and when we drove back by (after 5:00) our heads would ALWAYS turn to look (just in case you were still there) J
We heard at an event we attended a slogan that says “Aloha begins with me” and my friend you truly exemplify that slogan! We love your kind, gentle, loving manner in which you treat ALL customers. We shall truly miss YOU more than the shave ice (I think).
Too bad I didn’t know about Your ALL YOU CAN EAT SPECIAL until I went to your website………as several times I threatened to bring my LARGE Tupperware bowl. J

Comments : Ohhhhhh Aaron…this is DA BEST shave ice on the planet! We had some really bad “chunk ice” (worse than a snow cone) with syrup that tasted like plain old sugar earlier in the week so we were bummed out. We asked a very nice woman at the Poi Pounder if the shave ice in Coconut Marketplace was good and she directed us to you. What a fortunate piece of advice! Too bad we found you the day before we had to leave! The flavors are outstanding and the ice is like eating snow! We loved our Mango/Coconut/Passion Fruit (with snow cap) and Passion Fruit/Li Hing Mui so much we came back for more the next afternoon before we had to head home. We were so glad to pull in & see your white van that we were salivating!! My hubby had to try different combos - but I had to get mostly the same thing EVERYDAY!!!! And I mean everyday! I thing we only missed 4 days out of our almost 3 weeks. Well today marked our last shave ice of this trip, & I ended up getting 2!! Comments : Aaron,Sharon and I have been going through shave ice withdrawals every since we left Kauai on the 21st. We of course miss your wonderful creations that we experienced everyday we could while we were there, but more than the shave ice we miss our friend and conversing with you each day. I have not had much time to play my ukelele since being home, yardwork has taken up most of my spare time. It is funny how fast grass and weeds can grow while you are on vacation. Sharon has had to work almost everyday that we have been home including Memorial Day. We miss you and the wonderful island you get to live upon and hope to revisit the Garden Isle again real soon. Which means I will need a pineapple and coconut shave ice and Sharon will need a root beer and vanilla with the cream topping as soon as we arrive.

Comments : I booked Aaron to do my wedding rehearsal in 2006.
He was so nice and helpful, and did everything he could to try and cater
my event. His daughter actually came to do it, and the service was excellent—and
the shaved iced! Everyone came back for seconds. We were finally able to
visit Hawaiian Blizzard for our 1-year anniversary this year and my husband
and I made sure to go every day. This shaved iced is better than JoJo's.
Don't believe the hype on all the Kauai vacation books. Aaron's shaved
ice is softer and much more fine. It's like frozen butter. And for the
price, you can't get a better deal on Kauai!

Comments : Aloooooha! After a fun, hot day of kayaking the Wailua,
Dan Lesli, Savannah (9) and Charlotte(6) desperately needed a shave ice
fix. We had been on Kauai for 6 days, and had tried a couple of other places
and were sorely disappointed. Imagine our surprise when we found Aaron
just before he closed for the day! The lightest, fluffiest ice and ono

Comments : You have to train for a "Shave Ice Eating Contest",
and train we did. For four days we visited the best Shave Ice Man in the
world. And on the fifth day: ALL YOU CAN EAT SHAVE ICE. And why not we
won't be able to eat this kind of Shave Ice until we return to Kauai in
2008. No one could beat the record, Varee won with Six, and everyone ate
at least four. THIRTYNINE Shave Ice in all! What a great time, and a great
host. But next time I'm stopping at three!

Comments : We are so glad we found you on a Friday afternoon.
We tried to eat as much shave ice as possible while in Kauai on our honeymoon,
but yours was the best (we had two each!). It was also the best overall
shave ice experience we had. We found that many other shave ice vendors
bark at people and practically throw the shave ice at you after collecting
your money. Not you! You are the nicest man! We seriously could not stop
talking about YOU and your kindness for the rest of the day, the rest of

Comments : This past spring break I brought 13 of my gymnasts
from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Kapaa just to try
shave ice from you. I told them it was broke the mouth shave ice. They
all agreed after we were done. All 14 of us tried the shave ice challenge.
Only 3 of us succeeded in finishing the 7 shave ice, but the rest of the
gang had a wonderful time for 2 and a half hours enjoying all the flavors
