GLENN KAHANA-sensei

Have you met Kahana-sensei? No? Then you should because he is truly a nice, thoughtful, and likable gentleman! Like many of us, Glenn Paul Kahana was born in Hilo, Hawai`i. Kahana-sensei’s birthday is in August of . . . well, let’s just say that he still qualifies as a young man!

Kahana-sensei attended school in Hilo. He attended Hilo Union and Chiefess Kapiolani Elementary Schools. He then went on to Hilo Intermediate and graduated from Hilo High School. He also attended Hawai`i Community College. Kahana-sensei then served with the U.S. Air Force.

In his private life, Kahana-sensei is a happily married man and he and his wife, Linda, are the proud parents of two sons. He says that his wife and family are the most important things in his life. Kahana-sensei is an Adult Corrections Officer at the Hale Nani facility. He is also a licensed massage therapist.

Kahana-sensei has no pet peeves, no favorite foods, or favorite color. He has no favorite singer but loves Hawaiian music. His primary interest and concern is his family and he lists surfing as a hobby.

Kahana-sensei first started in aikido back in 1990 with Niwao-sensei in Hilo. He has trained hard and is very talented in aikido arts. His calm, smooth nature shows in his performance. Kahana-sensei is a sandan and currently serves as an assistant instructor in the Afternoon Aikido class. Now that you have met Kahana-sensei, train with him and get to know him even better. You will definitely benefit by it!
