HAWAIIAN QUILT SHOW April 1-24. A unique collection of Hawaiian quilts is brought together by local families for the King David Kalakaua Festival Daily. MERRIE MONARCH FESTIVAL April 4-6. This is the premiere hula competition and event of the year with hula halau (schools) coming to Hilo on the Big Island from around the state to dance ancient and modern hula.
