QUEEN LILIUOKALANI LONG DISTANCE OUTRIGGER RACE (TBA) The largest long-distance canoe racing event in the world draws teams from the Pacific Basin. More than 2500 paddlers are expected to compete in this open ocean event with public activities and viewing at Kailua-Kona pier. KENWOOD CUP SAILING RACE (TBA) The Hawaii International Offshore Series features six windward/leeward courses, an ocean triangle race on a 22-nautical-mile course off Waikiki, a 150-mile Honolulu-to-Maui race along MolokaiÕs north shore, and a 390-mile race from Oahu to Kaula, Niihau, Kauai and return. The 1996 Mumm 36 Pacific Region Championship is held in conjunction with the Kenwood. The best international Grand Prix racers compete on 50 yachts, ranging in size from 35Õ to 82Õ. Call: 946-9061.
