These images (and the
par
files) are Copyright © 1995 by me, don lebow. You are more than
welcome to them for personal use. Really.
But any commercial use without
prior arrangement is not only illegal, but tacky. If you
redistribute them non-commercially, please include a credit.

The images stored here are 640 x 480 x 8bit (256 colors). While not ideal (ok, it bites), at least that makes for fairly quick loading.
Most will look much better at higher res (I use 1024 x 768).
To see that, you can generate 'em yourself, using
Fractint, like I do. (Or get the CD-ROM?
)
To that end, each image page has a download link to grab the companion PAR (a Fractint PARameter file) to recreate (or change!) the images. Unzip it in a temporary directory, and check the README file enclosed for further info.
PLEASE NOTE: The images on these pages are in interlaced GIF format to make the downloading a little friendlier. Unfortunately, Fractint doesn't support reading interlaced GIFs. So if you download the pics, you'll need to use another viewer to look at them. Ironic, eh? The PAR files will still let you recreate them from scratch.
I got an email the other day, asking me if I used another program to enhance the images after they were rendered. Nope. Outside of some resizing and format conversion, all of this came directly from Fractint. No filters, no effects, no post-processing. The magic's in the numbers.
