                                NEW THOUGHT CENTER OF HAWAII
By providing a loving, accepting, non-judgmental community, we at NewThought Center of Hawaii create a sanctuary for the nourishment, development, and evolution of each person's unique spiritual path.
The circle we sit in represents our inclusiveness and our equality. We have no minister. We take turns facilitating, and we minister to each other. In addition to sharing our own spiritual insights, we invite teachers from all wisdom traditions. We invite and honor such variety and in ourselves and in the world around us. We understand that no single source has exclusivity of spiritual truth, health and joy and that there is much to be learned from many of these sources.
We gather every Sunday at 10 a.m. in Kealakekua at Pualani Terrace just south of the Kealakekua Library. You are invited to join the circle.
Morty Breier pres. and board of NTCH.

HUMOR

TWO BEGGARS via Peter Guthrie

There were two beggars sitting side by side on a street in Mexico City.
One had a Christian cross in front of him, the other one the Star of
David. Many people went by, looked at both beggars, but only put money
into the hat of the one sitting behind the cross.
A priest came by, stopped, and watched many, many people give money to
the beggar behind the cross, but not to the beggar behind the Star of
David.
Finally he went over to the beggar behind the Star of David and said,
"Don't you understand? This is a Catholic country. People aren't
going to give you money if you sit there with a Star of David in front
of you, especially when you're sitting beside a beggar who has a cross.
"The Star of David beggar listened to the priest and, turning to the
Christian cross beggar, said: "Moishe...look who's trying to teach us marketing."

MISCELLANEOUS

AS WE ARE LIBERATED FROM OUR OWN FEARS...

Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the Glory of God within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone and as we let our light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.                                                                                                                                               Nelson Mandela

SPIRITUAL MESSAGE

A mother and her daughter were walking in the woods today playing a game. Aine was pretending there were monsters in the forest and that they were coming to eat them. She and her mom had to be vigilant. They had to defend themselves.
Her mother asked her, “What is the plan? What are we going to do if we see one of the monsters?”
     She replied, “Feed them.”
     ”Feed them?”
"Yes,” she said. “If we feed them they won't want to eat us.”

AFFIRMATION

Today I am centered in the goodness of God. I actively participate in my life to the fullest but I also establish "empty" time for silence and prayerful quietude. After my doing, I withdraw on a regular basis to permit non-doing so that I am consistently renewed. I appreciate the way my entire being is infused with spiritual power by the hallowing silence.
