$113,000 for Ewa Elementary School:

The Governor has released (authorized spending) $113,000 appropriated by the Legislature for Ewa Elementary School. This money will be used for the Administration and Library building, classroom renovations, furniture and equipment. Correspondence attached.

Hawaiian Railway Society Foodland and Sack n Save:

We have a unique part of history in our community - the Hawaiian Railway Society. From September 8 to 30, Foodland and Sack n Save will match contributions made to the Hawaiian Railway Society dollar for dollar. See the attached flyer for details.

Permit Hearing - Intergenerational Group Living Facility - Ewa:
On September 17, the City and County Department of Planning and Permitting will hold a public hearing regarding a conditional use permit for the group living facility to be located off Karayan Road in Ewa. The developers have made two presentations to the Ewa Neighborhood Board on this project. The hearing notice is attached.

Public Hearing - A Bill to Amend the Ewa Development Plan:

On September 15, the City and County Department of Planning and Permitting will hold a public hearing regarding a proposal to increase the review period for the Ewa Development Plan from every three years to every 5 years. The hearing notice is attached.

9th Annual Heritage Festival at Hawaii's Plantation Village

The annual Heritage Festival at Hawaii's Plantation Village will be October 2 and 3. See flyer.

Mahalo to Menehune Water

Menehune Water is a good neighbor and supporter of community events. Again this year they provided bottled water and a refrigerated cooler for the Ewa Walk.
