The caduceus itself is an interesting phenomena in history in that according to the text The Cosmic Code by Zecharia Sitchin the Biblical scholar, it is the ancient symbol of Enki, an extraterrestrial water being appearing in ancient Sumerian depictions of flying gods. If one can trace this character through history, he has other names such as "Mercury" "Hermes" or "Osiris." In his book, Sitchin found evidence that the caduceus is the secret of resurrecting the dead and is the symbol of the intertwined snakes, or the double helix DNA(101). These pictures reveal that the structure of 2-strand DNA was known in Sumerian times. This means that the secret of the Caduceus involves biomedicine, genetics and instant healing. Even Moses was told to create a copper snake on a staff so that those who were infected with the plague could look upon it and be healed (Sitchin, Cosmic 102).
In Sitchin's book, The Twelfth Planet, appear diagrams of the winged globe which sits atop the caduceus. This is perhaps where the true mystery lies. "Wherever archaeologists uncovered the remains of Near Eastern peoples, the symbol of the Winged Globe was conspicuous"(240) This symbol was highly revered from all ancient peoples from that region, sitting above even their kings. In the fictionalized book recently written by Sitchin The Lost Book of Enki he implies that when these extraterrestrials travelled to other planets, they wore an "Eagle" wing headdress which enabled them to breathe and survive in alien environments. This is the same head gear found on depictions of the god Mercury, and the same found on the Caduceus.
What is the meaning of these wings? Are these the wings of Ken Carey's Bird Tribes?
Except for a few of us who remained to guide and influence the course of your histories, the better part of the Bird Tribes have not been incarnate in human form during historical times, though always we were there in nature and the spirit worlds around you. Some twenty-five centuries ago most of us departed, to wait for the return of your intelligence and the slow turning of the sacred cycles that would favor your awakening (20).
And later he goes on to say that feathers should "remind you of the spirit beings who come from the stars to brighten your human lives"(61). The feathered god of course is classic in the lore of the Mayans and Incas, and American Indian.
Sitchin's The Twelfth Planet indicates that the Book of Job and the Psalms identify the Winged Globe to be a name for a celestial planet, one that Sitchin claims appears every 3600 years in our solar system as it orbits our sun and a far off star in the region of the Dog Star, Sirius. This planet is called Nibiru and is said to be the birthplace of Enki and his brother Enlil, Anunnaki, who came to Earth to mine gold for their planet's atmosphere 500,000 years' past. The two brothers engaged in genetic manipulation of the primates found on Earth at that time in order to create a worker for the mines, and created homo sapiens from their own DNA it is said. On page 340 Sitchin states, "Homo sapiens is the product of some sudden revolutionary event...some 300,000 years ago, millions of years too soon." The genetic manipulators disagreed about what to do with the "Adamu" they had created; Enlil wanted to keep Adamu as a hybrid, but Enki wanted Adamu to have all the same abilities to breed as they had, so as a "serpent" (Enki's other name) he gave the secret genetic adjustment or implant to create Adam and Eve. He had in fact impregnated two of the female hybrids causing them to give birth to Adam and Eve (Titi) who were able to procreate. The extraterrestrial DNA gave these new humans the ability to speak and intelligence on a par with the Anunnaki. Enraged at this violation of their code of conduct on an alien planet, his brother, Enlil, kicked Adam and Titi (Eve) out of the Garden of E'Din in a rage. As the reader knows, Adam and Eve proceeded to procreate, and Enlil's attempts to destroy humankind in both the flood, nuclear holocausts, genocides, world wars and now genetic tampering with food, clones and biological weapons have not succeeded. So there is something in the Caduceus that tells of our history as genetically altered homo erectus and some clue in this symbol or our mastery of mortality. The scriptures of the Katha Upanishad say that "All this universe that there is, emerges and moves because there is the supreme Brahman which is a great terror like an uplifted thunderbolt. Those who know this become immortal"(120). Perhaps the Kundalini is the thunderbolt. I know that many times I heard thunder in my head as the Kundalini progressed on its journey.
Thus about the origins and meaning of this DNA symbol, the Caduceus, the full answers remain unclear. How do we honor this symbol of the DNA wrapped around a central column with wings as a sign of healing yet have real knowledge of the symbology of it?
The Kundalini holds the secret to this mystery. In the depictions of the Caduceus, the snakes reach the top of the spine (the nose or 3rd eye) and then become wings the symbol of the mysterious twelfth planet, Nibiru. Everything that I have understood about the ascension of Kundalini indicates that it must rise from the third eye with the help of the teacher. The great teachers say it is possible for the student or disciple to raise Kundalini up to the third eye on effort alone, but to raise it through the pineal, or third eye, is not possible without the help of the master. Kundalini, when it reaches the third eye, vibrates through the pineal like a waving finger or tail. In 1980, at one stage of the rising Kundalini, I could see and feel this fluctuating finger along with an intense buzzing; I could see both within at the vibrating pointing pineal sending signals to the pituitary, which was like looking through a moving curtain, and I could also see the outside world. Itzhak Bentov has a great little work on the topic of vibration and consciousness in Stalking the Wild Pendulum. His work was said to be very near to complete accuracy before his untimely death in a plane crash. About this vibrating he says on page 82, "When something moves so fast that it uses almost no time for its movement then it moves at an almost infinite speed, and when something is going so fast, then it must be present at all places at once!...:omnipresence." So this vibration of the pineal, created by the ascended Kundalini sets up a communication system with the universe. The human being is a radio receiver for the cosmic mind. In the web site on the chakras at http://www.io.com/secretgarden/brm/chakras.htmIntroduction to ChakraAnatomy, the vibratory wavelength of the ajna chakra, or pineal, is said to be "4100 x 10-8 cm".
It appears that helped by the ascended master or teacher, kundalini rises up through the third eye, vibrates across to the pituitary and establishes something I call a "scalar wave" which merges at the crown and creates a halo around the head. This stage of the ascent of Kundalini forms a cobra-shaped appendage over the crown of the head. This can be seen in ancient headdresses still worn today by the Tibetans and Hawaiians, and also in the statues of Minerva,
Shiva and other Hindu saints all over the world. Many statues depict as many as seven hooded cobras above the head. My guru's teacher, Nityananda, has a large statue in the garden of Gurudev Siddha Peeth with seven protective cobras above his head. I have clairvoyantly seen my friend with five of these cobras. I understand from my own experience that they have a protective effect. I feel that the more of these hooded cobras are above the head, the more spiritually evolved is the being. Unfortunately this image has not always been a culturally positive one because of the Greek story of Medusa, the goddess with snakes for hair who was terrifying to look at. I believe that this raised COBRA is the symbol that a person is a full human being.
I own a lovely picture of Minerva, painted by an Mihran K. Serailian copyrighted to Manly P. Hall (1962). The title is "The Opening of the Third Eye." I quote the text below the picture.
This painting of the head of Minerva shows, in part, the activities of the pineal gland and the pituitary body at the time of the phenomenon commonly termed "the opening of the Third Eye." The Kundalini fire is seen rising upward through the spinal canal into the pons of the medulla oblongata. The golden light radiating from the base of the brain, at the back, gradually increases in size and intensity until it forms the nimbus, or halo of the saint. The pituitary body is here shown surrounded by an elliptic rose aura. The pineal gland...the Third Eye of the Mysteries...is here depicted as blue in color and surrounded by a radiating blue aura. In reality, however, this aura includes within itself all the colors of the spectrum, but blue decidely predominates. The tiny vibrating finger on the pineal gland points directly toward the pituitary body. This finger, vibrating at a very high rate of speed, is the actual cause of true spiritual illumination.
This confirms my own experience, and this picture is the only place I have seen such information revealed. So it is this vibration of the pineal that sets up the waves or frequencies that give human beings access to divine wisdom and knowledge. We join the frequency of the divine, we hear our higher self, and we can participate as cosmic citizens. We become omnipresent, omniscient as well.
From this explanation of the rising Kundalini there is an aura effect above the head that occurs from the opening of the third eye. And so a sort of helmet covers Minerva's head that comes to a peak over the eyebrows and which has an elongated crown above the head from which a snake emerges. From my observations of many statues of Shiva and Nag saints in India, it would appear that the raised cobra indicates a fully raised Kundalini function, and that indicates a full human being.
Humans, therefore, have the ability through the awakening of Kundalini to transcend the winged-gods and become fully established in the higher realms of knowledge and immortality. The epic story of Gilgamesh who failed to gain immortality even though he was mainly god and only partly human demonstrates this effort to become immortal that seems to have been denied us by the "gods". We psychologically believe we have to die, over and over again. But this is not true, as Deepak Chopra has written in endless books. The awakened Kundalini transcends this illusion of mortality, limitation so that a false barrier appears to have been imposed upon us. Was this knowledge ours in the ancient past? Indications from the examination of ancient documents indicate that indeed, we have lost more than perhaps we can ever believe. Somehow this knowledge has been either lost or stolen from us as we have seemed to have slipped into a fog or labyrinth whose walls have blocked all the golden treasures we are heir to. We are not limited in fact, but our belief system tells us that we are.
In an article by Gregg Braden called "Egypt's Wisdom" as found in the Leading Edge News,
he reflects on the loss of so many valuable inherited traits that our 10% used brain capacity has no concept of. Interviewed By Kenneth and Dee Burke, he states:
BRADEN: ....
Maybe we should acknowledge at this point that 1,700 years ago, key elements of our most sacred heritage were lost -- relegated to the esoteric traditions and
the mystery schools. They were lost from the mainstream literature. Then, 1,000 years later, those texts that weren't lost were poorly translated into the
language of the West. They were abbreviated, reorganized and poorly translated, further confusing the roles that we play in the presence of one another and
the roles that we play between our selves, our Earth and, ultimately, our Creator. The reason that this is so important is that our belief systems today that
underlie our science, our religion, our technology and our history, are all based upon the incomplete memories, these incomplete records of these original
traditions. They all mirror that, and that's why our science is based upon separateness, upon viewing the events of life as separate from what's happening in
our bodies. That's why our religion sees us as separate from our Creator and separate from one another.
That's all changing now. Those traditions, that
separateness has served us really well, allowing us to see ourselves in that way.
It has worked so well that we have come to the point that we can go back and recognize the Tenets of Original Wisdom, embrace them, and transcend the
science, religion and mysticism. We embrace all of those traditions and allow them to carry us to a "New Wisdom" that embraces each of those and, as yet,
has no name.
So, now, I'll go back and reiterate the four tenets.:
So there is a creative aspect of our very being that is not tapped. We are not using most of our capacity, the 90% of our brain that scientists acknowledge is available to us.
But as Ken Carey so beautifully explains in The Third Millennium "Without the spirit, the ego is capable of using only about 10 percent of the brain's capacity, and even then its observations and conclusions are often inaccurate"(69).
Spirit, the Ascending Goddess, is the life, the vitality that enervates the whole. Carey says "Only the spirit has the necessary energy intelligence and operational software to use the full capacity of the human mind"(69). Only the Kundalini can utilize this unknown 90% capacity, this junk DNA as the scientists love to refer to it. Such is the gift of Kundalini. She is the spirit of man that has been locked into the genie's bottle and which is now being uncorked. Carey believes that the spirit filled human mind will create harmony, unity, cooperation, understanding and "becomes a transformational vortex, a channel through which universal awareness can flow into this physical world"(70). This is what I have also found with my spiritual awakening. The Kundalini snake found in the Caduceus, this ancient symbol, is a small remnant of former full human awareness, and a trigger to our remembering who we truly are and from which we can resurrect our knowledge.
