Never had a bad meal. And thanks for sharing the kulolo. I'll be trying to duplicate the recipe when I get home. Again mahalo. -- Kathy (and Katie)

Comments : Your place was great Richard .. Spacious enough for the three of us, very clean, well equipped, a nice efficient fan to keep us comfortable and a good variety of guide books and other information to assist us. Thanks for breaking those coconuts and appreciate your thoughtfulness in allowing us a late checkout.

Comments : I couldn't have gotten a better "home base" for my Eastside explorations. Richard, you know Kapaa better than anyone I've met - and my Lonely Planet writing will reflect it. I wish my trip had been more leisurely so I could hear more of your stories. The place is spacious enough for my yoga practice and very clean and spic & span. Thanks! Mahalo & Aloha from one local to another.

Comments : K.K. B&B was the perfect place for us. Great location from which to explore the island in both directions; clean/quiet/private; short walk to a variety of restaurants/shops; 1/2 block to the beach AND a great jogging path along the ocean! Richard is a superb host who provides lots of local information. By the way, if you plan to hike the Kalalau trail and are worried about potential car vandalism (forgot to tell you this before we left, Richard), Kayak Kauai in Hanalei will store your car for $10/day, or $40/week and you can take a taxi from there to the trailhead for about $21-$22. Calvin, the North Shore Taxi driver, said you could also park at the airport at Princeville for no charge (he felt this would be even more secure), but it's further away, so would be a more expensive taxi ride. There is also a pay phone at the trailhead to call the taxi for pickup on your return. Anyway, I digress... Assuming you're the kind of traveller who doesn't need a pool, daily maid service, aircon (there are 3 very adequate ceiling fans), I would highly recommend K.K.! Thanks so much, Richard! Joanne & Fred

Comments : What a great launching pad to explore the north and eastern end of Kauai! We loved hiking part of the Na Pali coast; eating authentic food at the Aloha Diner; kayaking the Wailua River to Fern Grotto and Secret Falls; and running/soaking up the beaches nearby. Thank you, Richard, for your e-mail prowess when we booked our reservation, your kindness upon arrival, and all of the insider tips. We used practically all of them! We'll recommend you to our airline friends! Thank you again - Waimea Canyon and the Kokee Lodge won't compare to Kapaa and the K&K.

I'm only hoping the 3rd visit will be free!  (I can hear Richard laughing now!) I will always recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Kauai. Comments : We love this place & for many reasons; could hang out our clothes to dry & not be ostracized!!! Richard took such good care of us - made us feel a part of his family. He had good suggestions about places to dine but, unfortunately, never came up with all the we needed! This was a great location, & we really enjoyed the historical tour. You are too smart - we never could win at the game "stump the tour guide"! We hope to see you at our home very soon, Richard! You can stay at least two nights "free"! We will recommend your b.&b. as a great place to stay! Mahalo!

Comments : Thank you for dealing with our standby issues! We all felt at home here and did not want to leave! (My son) had a great time and loved the "baby beaches". He wants to stay "home" (here) forever. This apt. is plenty big enough even for a family. It was nice to feel more like locals than tourists and we enjoyed walking around town and using the "hangouts". Thank you so much for the use of your books, maps, brochures, & beach items that we could not bring with us here! AND most of all - your help & knowledge of area & activities & just sharing your friendship! See ya in Alaska?!
