Provided one-on-one tutoring to students of all ages. Custom tailored approach and material to the requirement. Met with teachers, administrators and parents for needs assessment and review. Researched and wrote lessons for delivery by other instructors via Internet. December 1995-Present

Pacific Horizons School., Pago Pago American Samoa
Co-founded a private school. Wrote and delivered lessons to small mixed age groups between grades 4-9. Wrote school philosophy and curriculum guidelines in preparation for a successful accrediation by the Department of Education. In the second year wrote specific curriculum packages for each session, including a unique Social Studies curriculum covering the European exploration and domination of the South Pacific from 1830-1900. Professional Storyteller

American Samoa Arts Council, Pago Pago American Samoa
Selected as Artist in Residence. Travelled to public schools to perform weekly. Wrote and conducted a summer program for 8-14 year olds which taught the skills of storytelling. Prepared and conducted workshops for teachers in the public school system. January - December 1995

Teacher

South Pacific Academy, Pago, Pago, American Samoa
Taught humanities to grades four and five. Required creating new material to teach Whole Language skills before the purchase of mass published curriculum materials. Write several Teachers' Study Guides for novels, including one for Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. Wrote and delivered a leadership program covering the last quarter of the school year (9 weeks) for the fifth grade. February 1994 - September 1994


Freelance Writer

Wrote more than I sold. Wrote three screenplays, one of which was entered in the Academy contest, passing the first cut into the quarter finals. Submitted a great deal of material to publishers. Paid for some by WordPerfect Magazine. Wrote a WordPerfect course to be used at high school level for business writing. July 1990 - February 1994.

Infantry Captain

National Defence Headquarters, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
During a twenty eight year career routinely developed curriculum from source material. This included design right from the first principles. ie "what training is required to perform this task?". Wrote and conducted dry and live fire exercises. Wrote classroom courses (a course is 40 hr/week) to be conducted by myself and / or others. Supervised and critiqued instructors. A particular joy was preparing and delivering Junior NCO or Junior Ofiicers' courses, which deal primarily with leadership. I did this many times. For the final ten years, retrained and was a computer systems analyst. September 1964 - July 1990
